Mac & Cheese is pretty straightforward, but let us clarify: macaroni noodles + cheese. There, I’m glad we covered that. But seriously, the main ingredients should be macaroni noodles + cheese + whatever your beautifully imaginative heart desires! This is what is going to set your dish apart from the rest. We had some fierce competition last year so our expectations are high! Winners from past years included jalapeño popper mac, fried mac balls with raspberry jelly, a blueberry dessert mac, and short rib mac! The most creative category was a dish called “Baby Got Mac” and it was fried mac in the shape of babies… some people still have nightmares. But, nonetheless, you have your work cut out for you.

Yeah, your Mac is good. But, can it hold up against the refined palates of dozens of other Mac lovers? We’re going to need quite a bit of your best Mac. Guests will be given a tasting vessel that holds about a heaping tablespoon of Mac. We think about a half size foil pan’s worth of the good stuff should do the trick! Remember, you’re competing for glory! Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd best Mac as well as the coveted most creative category!

We will be providing foil pans, heating elements, and stands the day of. Foil pans will be available for pick up @ Denver Beer Co in Arvada 1 week before the event. This way there will be no need to transfer your mac from your vessel to ours the day of. If you are going for Most Creative and need special supplies or your Mac is just so extra then you will need to provide any additional tools. There will be very limited electrical access so please reach out if you will absolutely need an outlet.

Guests will start checking in at 4:45 and the tasting will begin at 5pm. During this time guests will walk around tasting 3-4oz samples of the various dishes. A final call for votes will be made around 6pm. Voting sheets will have spots to fill in votes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place, and the coveted most creative category!
